The day before yesterday, my girlfriend got her prescription filled at Wal-mart and they gave her the 37.5 mg tabs manufactured by Qualitest. She took one yesterday and felt absolutely nothing. As a matter of fact, she was yawning her head off all day yesterday. She has never taken phen so its not a tolerance issue and over a month ago, I gave her one of my A159's to try and she was bouncing off the walls. I asked to look at her pills and they were oblong, blue and had V5030 imprinted on them -- a big difference in appearance from the A159's I have. Then I looked at the bottle - Qualitest. I thought I had seen a post or a thread about pills from this pharmaceutical company being weaker or something but can't find anything doing a search.

Anyway, when I went to pick up my refill, you best believe I was looking at my pills to make sure I did not get the Qualitest pills -- I didn't -- I got my usual A159s. While we were at the consultation window, I told the pharmacist that the Qualitest pills were weak and ineffective and we demanded that they switch her pills for the A159s and they did. Thank goodness! So hopefully, my friend will have great success today. I felt so horrible for her yesterday -- I've been successful and refer her to my doctor who prescribes phen-pro and then she got some wack pills. It's all good now.

We have to keep in mind that we are the consumer and we have every right to question what it is that we are putting into our bodies. If your script is not cutting it for you, then perhaps the crap they have at the pharmacy is old or the pharmaceutical company that manufactures it sucks. Furthermore, Wal-mart buys in bulk so they pass on the savings to their customers -- well them buying the Qualitest shit is an example of when buying in bulk screws the customer.

Thank goodness I had already done my research even though I know that we appeared to look like junkies yesterday. LOL! Whatevah!

I did a little research - apparently Wal-mart relies on pharmaceuticals from India to produce their meds - that would explain poor quality. Also, I believe Qualitest was acquired by Apax in which there is an Indian affiliation.

I hear that CVS isn't much better - isn't that the place that was passing off the crap from the Honduran pharmaceutical company?

I had my rx filled at Walgreens and the phentermine was $49.00. My sister just had hers filled a couple of days ago at Walmart and paid something like $13.00! She has no insurance, so that's not an issue. I'm curious now to see what pills she got.
I have to do my refill paperwork in a couple days. I would like to pay Walmart prices, but would rather pay more for better quality. Maybe I'll call there and see what brand they carry before I switch pharmacies. Thanks for the info Kerls!

My only options are CVS and Wal-mart. I could go to Giant or Shopper's, too. Insurance covers my phen - I pay $10 for a 30 day prescription, but if I had to pay more going elsewhere to get better quality pills, then I will.

UPDATE: Yesterday, my girlfriend took the A159s that Wal-mart switched out for her and she felt the same as she did with the Qualitest tabs. We think now that it might be the prozac messing up the effects of the phen. She's going to e-mail her doctor to find out what's going on and take her phen this morning without the prozac.

You are so right! Aside from the manufacturers not making it worth a damned anymore, I have tried both one qualitest from cvs -I think I would have had a better effect with a sugar cube.
Walmarts A159 phen sucks- That place is a friggin hot house!
According to my friends husband a pharmacist not at Walmart, Says:::Phentermine is a drug that is affected by temperature.
So when you think you are getting old phen it could be because it was basically overheated.
Everytime I go into a damned Walmart it is like a hotbox.
I had to walk out of there yesterday because it was so hot.
I had 3000.00 to spend on electronics and they didnt see any of it..I let the manager know and he was quite upset...Oh well, Stores if you want our money start using the air conditioning especially in the pharmacy portion of the strore so you are not selling inadequate
medications!

The info about the heat is very interesting. Makes me curious as to the conditions of what we get through FedEx. :?
The rest of your post is hysterical! Not that I'm laughing at you, because I'm really not. I hate being too hot when I'm shopping, and Wal Mart is one of the worst places for it. Then, throw in all of that food smell in a Wal Mart, and it's nauseating!! I've just never heard any one's opinion on it before.

Any update on what the prozac does with the phen? I'm curious because I'm starting the phen / prozac tomorrow.

I had my prescription filled at walmart (which is never too hot) and mine are capsules, half blue, half clear, with little white and blue 'balls' inside. They have on them E5000. I read somewhere that a pill that is blue and clear with an E on it is brand name, but I thought I was getting generic?

I am on prozac as well for other reasons but at phenpro.com the doctor patented that combination because he says it keeps the phentermine working longer than six weeks, and without the combination of prozac (or some other antidepressants) phentermine will always stop working after six weeks.

I have taken phentermine 37.5 tab for about 6 months now. I have done really really good, I have lost about 80 pounds so far. This last time I went to get me script filled at Wal-Mart where I had it filled for the last 6 months, I got home and opened the bottle and thought this isn't what I have been taking, so I looked at the bottle and it said qualitest on it.. I called Wal-Mart and asked them and was told they had to switch company's where they got their meds. Well needless to say these DO NOT work. I called my DR and he said that is not what he prescribed to me. I called Walgreen's to see what they carried and asked them if it was the qualitest and she told me no that that's what they used to have but had to sent them all back because they had been recalled. So I have transferred ALL my prescriptions to a different pharmacy. [/b]

Hi - OK, after reading these posts I went searching for my last bottle to see what the manufacturer was because I felt that they were a lot weaker than before. Sure enough, Qualitest! I've been getting mine from Sam's (wal-mart) for the past few months, & this last time I asked them why they looked different. The pharmacist told me that they ordered from this manufacturer because the other one was always backordered (A-159). I asked if I'd be able to return them if I felt they didn't work & she said no. I could return them right then w/out trying them, but not after I left. She also told me that she's had so many people tell her that these work so much better than the other ones. I now think she was lying to me! Maybe she was trying to psyche me into thinking that since some think it's all psychological? I don't know, but I'm glad that I read this because it completely confirms what I had thought. No wonder I didn't lose weight!!

I also found the old bottle of the ones that work & the manufacturer is ACTA. I'm pretty sure those are the A-159 tabs.

I had a script from my doc and took the v5030 from rite aid and had fab results. I no longer have insurance so like many have had to look elsewere for my phen and have received both mp273 and 504's and I really miss my v5030. My guess is it really depends on the person, the pharmacy and the storage or shipping conditions.
